Headline: Fine and bright for most. Rain developing in far northwest.

Today: A bright day for most, especially across parts of Wales and northern England. Scattered showers affecting the far southeast of England. Cloud amounts increasing across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland with occasional rain developing through the afternoon.

Tonight: Rain and hill snow spreading slowly southeast, reaching western Wales and northwest England by dawn. Elsewhere cold, frosty for many, some freezing fog patches developing. Showers continuing in far southeast.

Sunday: Most central and eastern areas, cold and mainly dry with some sunny spells. Elsewhere, cloudy with occasional rain and hill snow. Snow falling to lower levels in places later.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday: Occasional rain, sleet and snow across western areas, easing somewhat through Tuesday and Wednesday, especially across England and Wales. Drier and brighter further east, but some wintry showers. Feeling cold.
