Cirrus has announced that the first of its personal jets are expected to be shipped out to customers during 2015.

Cirrus has announced that the first of its personal jets are expected to be shipped out to customers during 2015.

The statement was made at the 20th anniversary Aero Expo, which is currently taking place in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The company’s new owner, CAIGA, has placed a major investment into the Cirrus Vision SF50 personal jet program – ensuring that it is fully funded through certification and initial production.

According to Cirrus, the aircraft will fill the gap between high performance pistons and traditional turboprop twins and light business jets. Its expansive cabin will seat up to five adults and two children.

The Vision concept aircraft achieved its maiden flight in 2008, and since then detail design, systems verification and full flight envelope testing has been ongoing. The investment from CAIGA will significantly speed-up the program.

Additionally, Cirrus will accelerate the hiring of personnel critical to the program’s completion, such as designers and engineers.

Through June 30, 2012, the list price for a well-equipped Cirrus Vision SF50 is $1.72 million with list price moving to $1.96 million effective July 1, 2012.

Premier of the new SR22

Cirrus also premiered the new version of its SR22 – which it has dubbed ‘The Most Sophisticated Single…Ever’ – at Friedrichshafen today.

It features the company’s new Carbon-Package, a combination of upgraded interior materials, striking appointments and a new exterior.

“For 2012 we have made the world’s best-selling single engine piston even better, and especially for customers outside the US,” said Todd Simmons, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cirrus Aircraft. “With all-new Perspective Global Connect, Cirrus owners and operators around the world now have on-demand access to graphical weather, satellite phone, text and email messaging capabilities via the Iridium satellite network.

“And of course Global Connect is fully integrated into the most capable flight deck in its class, Cirrus Perspective by Garmin.”

He added: “We have also made a real leap forward in utility and flexibility for our SR-series of piston aircraft by introducing 60/40 FlexSeating, a wider back seat highlighted by an automotive-style 60/40 fold-down rear seat for five-person maximum aircraft occupancy.

“Cirrus owners now have greater options for carrying more passengers, more cargo and more gear. And when one or both rear seats are folded down, golf clubs, skis, and larger objects now slip right in because of significantly increased available space in the rear cabin.”

For a limited time, orders for new SR20, SR22 or SR22T can recieve purchase incentives in combination with a Cirrus Vision SF50 personal jet production reservation. This special offer is only available through June 30, 2012.
