Vintage Aerobatic World Championship 2018 coming to Skive Airport this August

The championship will meet in Skive Airport 16-19 of August with registration costs increasing after July 19

Participants from Germany, UK, Belgium, Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark and even New Zealand are already confirmed. Counting two flights for each participant, and including the performance flights, there is set to be more than 60 elegant competitive flights.

Registration is still open through this link but please note that registration costs after July 19 will go up from €150 to €175.

As well as a swing band being booked for an award night on the Saturday, there will be an opportunity to dress up in attire from the same period as your aircraft.

Among the many new participators this year there will be a four-plane formation of Bückers from UK and a two-plane Bücker formation from Norway. In total you will see 11-12 original Bückers in Skive among many other fantastic vintage aerobatic airplanes.

VAWC will have three full judge-teams, all with strong international experience: Jiri Kobrle, Czech Republic (chief judge), Seff Hau, Germany and Jan Maxen, Denmark.

VAWC opening /briefing: Thursday 16th 20:00. If you need assistance/guidance regarding local accommodation, please reach out for Povl Toft.

Participants and Guests: Food/drink tickets for the days in Skive (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) available with payment on arrival at contest office or to Skive Flying Club.

VAWC guests (arriving by car or plane) will be asked to join Vintage Aerobatic Friends Club, paying €20 to support the VAWC organization. Please pay at the contest office, and get your VAWC cloth sticker.

VAWC Guests who want to participate in the AWARD Dinner and Hangar Party is asked to pay €20 each. VAWC participants: Please inform at arrival how many guests you expect from your side.

Landing fees for participants: €30 (all days)
