Bologna Airport Follow me Lamborghini

Bologna Airport Follow me Lamborghini

Archant

Pilots arriving at Bologna Airport may now find themselves assisted to find their parking bay by a rather unusual ‘Follow-Me’ vehicle

The vehicle is powered by a V-10 engine and which can reach a top speed of 175 knots.

The airport owes this unique vehicle to the fact that the factory of its manufacturers, Lamborghini, is a close neighbour of theirs. It is used primarily to welcome first flights arriving into Bologna but whether that includes a first landing of a private light aircraft isn’t clear.

The mainly aluminium and carbon-fibre Lamborghini could also easily act as a ‘Follow-me’ vehicle along the runway keeping ahead of jet airliners on take-off with the super-car performance it can achieve.
