About Us

Established in 1967, Pilot has been the leading and best-selling general aviation magazine for over fifty years. Covering everything a person can fly, from paragliders to the Space Shuttle, Pilot's coverage extends from the latest developments in contemporary aviation - aircraft, avionics, regulation and flight safety - to the historical perspective offered by its vaunted 'Old Timers' section.

Produced by pilots for pilots - the magazine's editorial team and columnists are all aircraft owners and operators, with experience ranging from grassroots farm strip flying to performing aerobatic displays flying, and of handling aircraft from gliders to turbine helicopters and long-haul airliners. From its earliest days the magazine has maintained a robust and independent stance, championing private pilots' rights and - where it has all too often been necessary - holding corporations and aviation authorities to task.
