Duo plan to fly around the world in former RAF trainers
Paul Green and Squadron Leader Chris Fopp will attempt to circumnavigate the globe in a De Havilland DHC1 Chipmunk and a Scottish Aviation Bulldog while raising funds for charity
Not only will 2018 be the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI, it will also - of course - mark a century since the formation of the RAF.
The idea is to fly a De Havilland DHC1 Chipmunk and a Scottish Aviation Bulldog from White waltham Airfield around the world, stopping off at the site of the De Havilland Canada factory, Australia and Scotland along the way.
The team behind the attempt said in a statement: “Paul and Chris both have personal experience of conflict in the Army and RAF respectively, and this is for them, their way of celebrating and remembering all those who are no longer with us and those who continue to bare the scares of conflict.”
