Aerobility has raised the £100,000 needed to purchase an aircraft fuselage flight simulator, and run it for five years.
An announcement on its Global Flight Simulator Challenge (GFSC) blog said:
'GFSC has just been donated £50k to match the £50k we have raised...
'We have now reached our fundraising target of £100k... and can buy and run the simulator!'
The challenge - which took place from 5 to 14 October - saw 100 pilots 'fly' the simulator around the world, attempting to break the Guiness
World Record for the longest flight simulation session as they did so.
Aerobility works to give people with disabilities the chance to fly in an aeroplane.
