Bonhomme wins Perth race but Arch takes world championship

Britain's Paul Bonhomme scored a spectacular victory in front of 200,000 spectators in the Western Australian City of Perth, the final race in the 2008 Red Bull Air Race World Championship, but Austria's Hannes Arch became the first European to win the championship with a solid third place finish on Sunday. Bonhomme finished second behind Arch as he did in 2007 behind American Mike Mangold.Nigel Lamb scored his first podium finish with a well-deserved second place at Perth. Steve Jones finished in sixth place, behind last year's Perth winner Nicolas Ivanoff.More than four million spectators watched the 8 races on 3 continents this year.Results in Perth: Perth: 1.
