PM's office says it can't intervene in planning battle

The Prime Minister's office finally replied today (13/8/07) to the epetition signed by 6,794 people to try to help Kemble in its planning fight to remain an active general aviation airfield for the benefit of the

local community and for pilots nationwide. Here's the Government's reply.'Cotswold District Council have issued an enforcement action on

unauthorised flying at Kemble Airfield. The owners of the airfield have

appealed against that action and the matter is now with the Planning

Inspectorate for their consideration. An inquiry is scheduled for the

end of November 2007. As the appeal is still pending it would not be

appropriate for Government to comment.'
