FOLLOWING in the footsteps of The Duke of York, Prince Harry has volunteered for the selection process to become a helicopter pilot with the AAC.
Earlier this month the young soldier passed the pilot aptitude tests at RAF Cranwell and next month he starts a four-week assessment course.
The pass rate of the course, which takes place at Middle Wallop on fixed-wing aircraft, is 50% so it's by no means certain that he is guaranteed a place.
If successful, he will commence flying training in January and will eventually fly the Lynx and Apache.
