MAF aircraft tours UK

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is currently taking its latest aircraft on a UK-wide tour, before flying it out to South Sudan.

The Cessna 182 will join MAF’s fleet of 135 light aircraft. The charity operates in 25 countries and works to provide nearly one million people with food, clean water, medical and educational supplies, and facilities for economic and community development.

The latest aircraft was previously owned by a German skydiving club and been donated by supporters at a cost of £250,000, which includes an extensive refit to enable it to work in the exceptionally demanding conditions of South Sudan.

The tour started on 1 June and will take in Defford Airfield, Worcestershire; Popham Airfield, Hampshire; Cumbernauld Airport, Glasgow; Sherburn Aeroclub, Leeds; Sywell Aerodrome, Northants, and Andrewsfield Aviation, Great Dunmow, Essex. Supporters will be able to see the aircraft, and meet the pilot and members of the MAF UK team.
