The Airfield Operators Group aims to bring CAA Airfield Licensees and owners of unlicensed airfields together to share information and have a 'strong unified voice'

A large number of UK airfields operate in isolation, surviving without the advantages that come from a platform for group discussion and support, according to the AOG.

They hope to change this by appealing to all small and medium airfields to join their initiative.

More than thirty airfields have already joined, including Goodwood, White Waltham, Popham and Compton Abbas, but more are needed as ‘there really is a need to have a strong unified voice’, read an AOG statement.

‘We have already had successes, one being negotiating a significant reduction of the AFPEX costs to airfields.’

Although mainly aimed at licensed airfields, the AOG also invite the busier unlicensed ones to share common issues of local and national importance at meetings held in suitable locations around the UK.

It is free to join and there are no subscription fees. If you own or operate an airfield, visit the AOG website, sign up to the forum or send an email with your name, title and airfield to info@airfieldoperatorsgroup.co.uk.
