Farnborough Airport’s giant airspace grab has come into effect, with the establishment of two class D Control Zones (CTRs) around the airport, along with seven Class D Control Areas (CTAs) and two Class E Control Areas (CTAs)

A new transponder mandatory zone (TMZ) has also been introduced for the Class E airspace.

As these new blocks of controlled airspace adjoin the long-established London Terminal Manoeuvring Area (LTMA) there now exists a very large, contiguous block of controlled airspace (CAS) across the south-east of England, increasing the likelihood of airspace infringement.

For further information, go to the CAA's Airspace & Safety website, which contains 'a comprehensive guide to the Class D and Class E Farnborough controlled airspace'.
