Jetman Yves Rossy and fellow thrill-seekers Vincent Reffet and Fred Fugen flew in close formation with the French Air Force’s Patrouille de France aerobatic display team.

The flight lasted nine minutes, and the three men – wearing the carbon-fibre-winged jetpacks designed by Rossy – came within a few metres of the eight Alphajets.

Afterwards, squadron leader of the Patrouille de France Christophe Dubois said: ‘What a fantastic experience for us, as pilots, to be able to fly in formation with these men.’

It is the latest in a string of stunning flights by the Jetman, which includes flying across the English Channel. With Reffet, he has circled the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and flown alongside an Airbus A380.

What’s next for the Jetmen?
