Pilot reviewed iAeronautical back in November 2012, and since then the company has released a number of updates for the App.

An IFR day view has been added, which is vector drawn and shows terrain and aeronautical information. There is also the option to add upper and lower airways.

VFR flight plan filing is now available, enabling users to file plans with Eurocontrol automatically. Pilots may also retrieve the status of flight plans and, if necessary, cancel them.

Coverage has been expanded to include thirteen countries: UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. More are due to be added in the near future.

Additionally, all of the available Eurocontrol plates (including approach plates for the IFR databases) are pre-loaded into iAeronautical’s country databases and any newly released plates are automatically downloaded — along with aeronautical data — every 28 days.

The App now enables users to download NOTAMs for a specific route or an entire country. Any downloaded NOTAMs are automatically drawn on the chart, and can be read by double tapping on a NOTAM symbol.

A new entry price of £59 is available for VFR for the UK and Ireland, or any other single country. Full IFR coverage for all of Europe is available for £199.
