Sweating freely and feeling the leaden grasp of ‘g’ pulling at my face and limbs, I’m not at all sure if I am getting this right. The ground is filling the view forward and I’m holding in left aileron and hauling perhaps a bit too hard on the stick in the hope that Rutland Water is going to come tilting into view… and then, as the nose comes up, there it is: our aiming point, and pretty much dead ahead.
